Foundations Associates Program
Adult Education
The Foundations Associates Program provides individuals with a firm Islamic foundation through nurturing personal growth, providing comprehensive knowledge and empowering students to deepen their understanding of Islam for practical implementation in their daily lives through a traditional framework.
The Foundations Associates Program is offered both in-person and online. There is no Arabic prerequisite.

Foundations Associates Program
Doctrines of Faith: The principles of faith, encompassing the essentials of ʿaqīdah that constitutes as the heart of the Islamic faith.
Scripture: An in-depth exploration of the primary sources of Islamic guidance, namely the Qurʾan and the Sunnah through the Prophetic traditions (ḥadīth). Emphasizing the importance of studying tafsīr (Qurʾanic exegesis) and the teachings of Prophet Muhammad ﷺ’s tradition to gain a comprehensive understanding of Islam and its practical application in daily life.
Foundations: An in-depth exploration of the origins and sources of knowledge and scripture (waḥy) in Islam. Students will delve in the academic and technical framework of extracting and comprehending information from Islamic sources. They will also study the foundational disciplines of the principles of Islam jurisprudence (Usūl al-Fiqh), principles of Hadith (Usūl al-Ḥadīth) and sciences of the Qurʾan (ʿUlūm al-Qurʾan) to understand the methodology, history and principles used in the deriving Islamic rulings, authenticate Prophetic traditions and navigating the Quran.
History: A captivating journey into the life and teachings of Prophet Muhammad ﷺ. We will explore the major events and milestones that shaped his life, from his birth in Makkah, to prophethood and death in Madinah. Through a comprehensive study, students will gain a profound understanding of the biography (sīrah) of the Prophet ﷺ and his invaluable teachings.
Application: The practical application of the foundations of Islamic law in the day-to-day life of a believer, while also emphasizing personal spiritual development.

HIST-101 From the Cradle to Migration | History
This course is an immersive journey through the life and history of Prophet Muhammad ﷺ from his birth until the end of his time in Makkah. We will delve into the cultural, social, and religious environment of pre-Islamic Arabia, explore the profound changes that occurred in the Prophet ﷺ’s life after receiving prophethood, and examine the major events that shaped his remarkable journey.

QUR-101 Divine Revelation: History, Preservation and Approaching Qur’anic Exegesis | Foundations
This course delves into the field of the sciences of the Qurʾan, with a particular focus on the study of its revelation and preservation. It explores the development of Qurʾanic studies, including its rich historical progression, methods of preservation, and the qualifications necessary for effective Quranic exegesis (tafsīr).

FIQH-101 The Principles of Islamic Law | Foundations
This course on Usūl al-Fiqh will guide students in understanding the sources of Islamic law, the spectrum of rulings in Islamic law, essential terminology, the history and development of fiqh and usūl, the major schools of Islamic law and the concept of adhering to a specific methodology.
